Mr. Mohammed Mosharaf Hossain

The renowned banking professional, Mr. Mohammed Mosharaf Hossain joined as the Managing Director & CEO of Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited (BCBL) on January 16, 2025. Immediately before joining BCBL, he was the Managing Director & CEO of the Islamic Finance and Investment Limited (IFIL), and earlier then the Managing Director & CEO of the First Finance Limited (FFL) respectively.
Mr. Mosharaf started his career with Uttara Bank Limited as a ‘probationary officer’ in 1987. During the long career span at Uttara bank, Mr. Mohammed Mosharaf Hossain apprehended various important positions including the status of Additional Managing Director (AMD) from 2016 to 2019. Among other responsibilities, he had discharged profoundly the role as the Chief Risk Officer, the Head of Credit, the Zonal Head, Branch Manager, In-Charge of local Office during his prolonged service tenure. He also administered the affairs of some strategic divisions/departments, like the Central Accounts Division, ICT Division, Research & Planning Department, and many more of the bank.
Mr. Mosharaf Hossain was born in a noble Muslim family at Muradnagar upazila in Cumilla District. He obtained the B. Com (Hons.) & M. Com, in Accounting from the University of Dhaka in 1984 & 1986 respectively. He is also an Associate of the Institute of Bankers, Bangladesh (AIBB). He has participated in a lot of professional training, workshops and seminars at home and abroad (i.e. Thailand, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, KSA, UK & Italy).
