01.What is Student File: filestudent

 

02.BCBL Student file service: The service aimed to provide convenient service to Bangladeshi students going abroad for higher education. Students going abroad for study needs to transfer money legally for tuition fees and living expenses, BCBL will maintain separate file for each student for keeping record of all the information till completion of the course.

 

03.Eligible courses under student file

i.Regular undergraduate programme.

ii.Regular post graduate programme

iii.Language course pre-requisite to bachelor degree/approved higher degree

iv.Post graduate degree –higher degree after the bachelor/Phd, FCPS etc

v.Professional/certificate courses at recognized institutions: any such courses which are pre-requisite for bachelor degree

vi.However for study in the school level no remittance can be sent without prior approval of Bangladesh Bank.

 

04.Required Documents for student file:

i.Application duly filled in as per appendix 5/82 of GFET (copy enclosed)

ii.Original and photocopy of admission letter issued by the educational institution.

iii.Form I-20 in case of study in US institutions (Copy enclosed).

iv.Attested copies of educational certificates of applicant.

v.Valid Passport

vi.A passport size copy of photograph of the student.

vii.Student enrollment certificate (if available)

viii.Student ID of the student (if available).

ix.NID of student (if available).

x.Detail information of the person financing the student.

xi.NID of the person financing the student.

xii.A passport size photograph of the person financing the student.

xiii.Account relationship with the student or the person financing the student.

06.Effecting remittance against student file:

i.Foreign exchange payable for admission fees and tuition fees should be in favour of respective educational institution.

ii.Payment on account of board and lodging/incidental expenses etc may be remitted in favour of the student.

iii.All remittance shall be made in the form of MT through swift.

iv.Advance remittance may be effected for processing of application, retention of seats etc if the papers of the foreign institution clearly state such requirements.

v.Remittance may also be effected for study of Bangladeshi nationals abroad in favour intermediary processing entity/center provided it is clearly mentioned in the admission documents/acceptance letter of the concern main educational institution.

vi.Remittance may be effected on account of Health Coverage/Health Insurance/Medical Insurance provided such fees are mandatory for Visa/admission in permissible courses supported by the admission documents/acceptance letter/offer letter of the concern institution.

vii.The facility of purchase of foreign exchange/remittance will not be admissible for more than one academic year at a time.

 

 

07.Progress Report:

i.For each release foreign exchange subsequent to the first remittance, the current progress of the course and current estimate of the educational institution should be collected and take into consideration.

 

08.Change of AD bank branch:

i.All remittance throughout the entire duration of a course of study abroad should be from one AD bank branch.

ii.For any required change under written request of the student, the relevant file shall be transferred direct to concerned new AD.

iii.Under no circumstances, the file be handed over to the student or his guardian.

 

 

 

09.Remittance for the student living and studying abroad:

i.Complete and satisfactory explanation regarding request for remittance for study after leaving the country.

ii.Documentary evidence in support of admission executed earlier.

iii.Academic results of previous semesters

iv.Sources and amount of expenses incurred as of date.

 

10.Change of educational institution:

i.Reasonable explanation by the applicant for the change

ii.Certificate evidencing that the new institution has agreed of accept the credits of the present institution.

 

11.Change of subject:

i.Reasonable explanation by the applicant for the change

 

12.Opening student file for new higher course:

i.In compliance with the instructions mentioned above

 

13.Charges: File opening charge first time: Taka 4000.00 and renewal for each year taka 3000.00 (or as per bank’s schedule charges)

 

14.Record keeping:

i.ADs shall maintain all student files separately under a separate file number.

ii.A file register may be maintained in this respect

iii.Student files with all relevant documents shall always be ready for perusal by the inspecting officials of Bangladesh Bank.
